Behavior Management
What is Behavior Management?
Behavior management is a technique used to help improve the likelihood that people will demonstrate behaviors that are socially acceptable, useful, and satisfying. This strategy can be implemented individually or in group settings. Behavior management is comparable to behavior modification, and it is not as extreme as behavior therapy. Behavior management is most often applied by a classroom teacher in group settings, as a way to increase work completion and decrease off task behavior and classroom disruption. Reinforcement, modeling, and punishment are all strategies that are used with behavior management to help increase more appropriate behaviors and decrease negative behaviors.
