Peer & Social Groups
North Shore Pediatric Therapy offers multiple boys and girls social groups for children ranging from 3 to 16 years of age. Using a variety of assessment modalities including the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) and Bridget Taylor’s Peer Interaction Curriculum, along with parent interviews and direct observation (school, home, or clinic), specific social skills goals are selected and then taught through role play, peer modeling, and a variety of science experiments, art projects, and games that keep your child initiating, reciprocating, and looking…all with a smile.
Social skills are those communication, problem solving, decision making, self management, and peer relation abilities that allow one to initiate and maintain positive social relationships with others. Our social groups each meet one time per week for one hour and are led by a board certified behavior analyst and/or an education specialist.
