Lactation at NSPT

LACTATION

A Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS) helps guide a mother through the nursing process. An infant that is demonstrating any difficulty with latching, sucking and swallowing, or difficulty with the entire feeding process may benefit from lactation therapy with a speech language pathologist. The CLS will develop an individualized treatment plan to best support the mother and infant. North Shore Pediatric Therapy provides a unique experience in that our CLS’s are also speech language pathologists (SLP). The benefit of a CLS that is also a SLP is that you will get an extensive background in feeding, oral motor, and bottle skills.

We also specialize in feeding therapy.
